Their smell was pleasant to the Lord. He said to himself, "I will never put a curse on the ground again because of man. I will not do it even though his heart is always directed toward what is evil. His thoughts are evil from the time he is young. I will never destroy all living things again, as I have just done.

Verse Explanation
God was pleased with Noah's offering and promised never again to destroy all living things in the same way. God recognized the seriousness of human weakness but chose to respond with patience and continued care for creation. This verse shows that God values sincere devotion and provides hope for the future. It teaches that even after difficult events, there can be opportunities for renewal and peace. The verse reminds us that patience, mercy, and compassion are important qualities in relationships and in the way people respond to mistakes.
