Verse Explanation
Solomon responded by acknowledging God's great mercy toward David because David had walked faithfully with integrity and righteousness. Solomon recognized that his own position was not simply the result of family inheritance or political success but was connected to God's covenant faithfulness. He also recognized that David's blessings came from a life of dependence on God.
