Why did the lion kill the man of God from Judah?

After the unnamed man of God from Judah spoke against Jeroboam's altar at Bethel, God had told him not to eat or drink there and to go home another way. An old prophet living in Bethel went after him and invited him home. When the man of God refused, the old prophet lied: "I too am a prophet, as you are. And an angel said to me by the word of the LORD, 'Bring him back with you.'" The man of God believed him and went. While they were eating, the word of the LORD came to the old prophet, and he told his guest he would die for disobeying. On the way home, a lion killed him, but strangely the lion didn't eat the body or attack the donkey. They both just stood beside it. The old prophet buried him in his own tomb and mourned. The lesson is hard but clear. When God has spoken plainly, don't let anyone, even someone claiming an angel's message, talk you out of it.
