What is Judgment Day?

Judgment Day is the day when God will judge every person. Paul told the philosophers in Athens that God "has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead." Jesus said the Father has entrusted all judgment to the Son. Everyone will give an account. Jesus said even every careless word will be judged, and Ecclesiastes says God will bring every hidden thing into judgment, whether good or evil. Paul says God will repay each person according to what they have done. That can sound terrifying, and for anyone who faces God relying on their own record, it is. But the Bible also says, "There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." Jesus said whoever hears His word and believes "will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life." For believers, Judgment Day is a day of vindication.
