What did Ahijah prophesy to Jeroboam's wife?
King Jeroboam's son Abijah became sick, so Jeroboam told his wife to disguise herself and visit the old prophet Ahijah, who had first told him he'd be king. Ahijah was now blind, but God told him she was coming. As soon as he heard her footsteps, he said, "Come in, wife of Jeroboam. Why this pretense?" Then he gave her hard news. Because Jeroboam had led Israel into idolatry, disaster would fall on his whole family. As for the boy, "When you set foot in your city, the boy will die." Ahijah added a surprising line. The boy would be the only one in Jeroboam's family to be properly buried and mourned, "because he is the only one in the house of Jeroboam in whom the LORD has found anything good." She went home, and as she stepped over the threshold, the boy died. Later, King Baasha wiped out Jeroboam's entire family, just as Ahijah said.
