Karka was a point on the southern border of Judah, mentioned only in Joshua 15:3. The border went "south of Kadesh Barnea. Then it ran past Hezron up to Addar and curved around to Karka. It then passed along to Azmon and joined the Wadi of Egypt, ending at the Mediterranean Sea." So Karka was west of Kadesh Barnea, where the border turned toward the Wadi of Egypt, in the dry borderland between the Negev and the Sinai. The name may mean "ground" or "floor," perhaps describing flat land. Its location is unknown. Some scholars suggest Ain el-Qoseimeh or a site near the Kadesh Barnea springs, but there's no firm evidence. The parallel description in Numbers 34 doesn't mention Karka. No events are recorded there. It helped define the ideal southern boundary of the land, running from the southern end of the Dead Sea to the Mediterranean.
