The boundary "turned east toward Beth Dagon, touched Zebulun and the Valley of Iphtah El." So it was on the eastern edge of Asher's territory, where it met Zebulun, probably near the plain of Acco or the western Galilean hills. Its name, "house of Dagon," shows that the god Dagon was worshiped beyond Philistia, in other parts of Canaan and Syria. Dagon is mentioned in texts from Ebla and Mari, in Syria, long before the Philistines arrived, and was probably a god linked with grain. Its location is uncertain. Some scholars suggest Tell Regev or a site near the Kishon River. No events are recorded there. It's one of several places in Canaan with this name.
